This was our first time visiting Halifax and we didn't really know anything about the location of the hotel before we arrived. It turned out to be in a very interesting neighbourhood, with lots of great restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. We had an amazing dinner at Bar Kismet, which is just a few minutes' walk from the hotel. The building is newly constructed and seems very well built. Our room was spacious, with a comfy sofa and a decent kitchenette. We needed to stash our luggage somewhere safe after we checked out and before we picked up our rental car. The reception staff allowed us to do that and also provided suggestions for things to do and places to stay along our trip.
The bed in our room was in a sort of niche or alcove that was raised about a foot above the level of the living room floor. The mattress was placed directly on the floor of the alcove--with about a foot of space around the sides of the mattress--which made it a bit awkward getting into and out of bed. My partner and I are in our 60s and still pretty able-bodied but less nimble folks may want to ask for a different room.

Location
No one in the lobby if you need immediate assistance. The air conditioner is not working or possibly presets on some temperature which you can’t control. It was very hot in the room. It has kitchen but no stove or microwave to heat the food.
