About this cottage rental
Remodeled 1926 craftsman cottage completed May 2025. (Please see our reviews under Coastal Ventura Charmer #1 for reference and info) A mirror image to our adjacent vacation rental this other half of the duplex is just as nice. Completely renovated, bottom to top. Equipped with new, state of the art appliances, full kitchen, beautiful tile shower and all new furnishings. Private yard, smaller than next door but with similar new patio furniture and a shed with similar bikes and toys.
Consider renting both sides for getting together with family or friends. A gate usually locked between the two can be opened for making it easier to visit.
*Property is located on a midtown cross street adjacent to a main boulevard with food choices on three corners. May be busy during lunch hour and weekends.

Nice 1/2 of a duplex in town. Have stayed in the other side before, this was the first time on this side of the duplex. A little smaller and lacks the convenience of direct entry from the alley parking behind but otherwise just as good. Nicely refurbished older home that retains a lot of the original charm but is updated to modern standards. It is a bit noisy being this close to downtown especially on weekends so be ready for that. Has the shed in the backyard like the other side that is lockable so that's a nice place to store your own gear plus there's bikes and beach gear provided. Kitchen is equipped with probably anything you'll need. We'll likely be back again in the future.

A cute cottage with a really nice, well-equipped kitchen, beautiful flowers out front, and a private patio in back. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 only due to the very soft and saggy mattress.

This charming place was 2 blocks from my cousin, so a family wedding where I helped be chauffeur was a 3 day event. I absolutely loved this place and it is indeed special; lots of attention to detail, huge kitchen, a ceiling fan over bed (yay!) and in living room, very comfy bed, fenced backyard and walkable to center of Ventura shopping. It is obvious the owners took great care to make it "like a home". I'm 78 years old, the one thing I wish was that it had a shower stool but it's not required for me to go back!

The host was very communicative - even including instructions on how to avoid the construction. Location was close to the beach, freeways and downtown. Very clean and comfortable bed.
