Could do better
The lodge was clean, the hot tub was the perfect temperature. We had a free lunch at the restaurant and the food was delicious. The lodge is in an great location approximately a 15 minute drive to St Andrews.
The lodge says that it sleeps 6 but one of the rooms had 2 beds squeezed in it that weren't large enough for adults. However, on our last day we found out that the sofa in the living room converted to a double bed.
On our second night, the electricity went off at 2am and despite being told in the literature that there was a 24/7 response we had to wait until 10.30am to get help. This was after more than a dozen attempts to try the 3 numbers provided. The smoke alarms also beeped all night after the power went off. The owner Marius turned up on the Sunday at 10.30am and got the power and heating back on. He said he didn't receive any voicemails (!) but he offered us a breakfast or lunch for the inconvenience. We had a chat and phoned Marius back. He told us that we could have lunch with drinks and he would phone ahead to the restaurant to let them know we were coming. On arrival at the restaurant, Valentina said she knew nothing about the lunch offer. I phoned Marius back and got his voicemail so I left a message. Then we were told by Valentina that we could have 1 course only and that we would have to pay for our own drinks. We were very disappointed with this outcome however Valentina was fantastic and the food was amazing. As we were there to celebrate 2 birthdays it left a bitter taste in the mouth as the whole episode ruined a good weekend.

Not quite a Premier Stay…
The lodge is in new condition and very clean, apart from mould in the shower. Plenty room for parking at the door. Resort facilities - restaurant, etc - are good though the location of the site itself is pretty bleak. Convenient base for exploring the East Neuk. The hot tub is great. Pleasant and helpful resort staff.
All three bedrooms and the bathroom are very cramped, much more so than in other similar lodges we have stayed in elsewhere.
It’s advertised as two bathrooms, but in reality it’s one very small bathroom with shower, and another toilet only. Lack of a second shower was disappointing when two bathrooms are advertised, and a bit of a pain.
Internet didn’t work at all on arrival, and although this was very quickly remedied by staff, it was still very slow and only one TV channel seemed to work.
The payment terms when booking are unclear, and when I messaged for clarification, they insisted that payment will be taken by booking.com, yet I was immediately hit by a deluge of emails from a third party, Premier Stays Fife, who took the payments. Twenty four emails in all for a straightforward stay in a caravan for a a days is excessive and annoying.
In the emails, a Welcome pack of tea, coffee and biscuits is advertised - no coffee, no biscuits, just a few teabags! Similarly, the promised washing up liquid and dishcloth turned out to be a disposable J-cloth and the absolute dregs of a bottle of washing up liquid - not even enough for one wash. Irritating to have to go and buy these when we could easily have taken with us.
Little niggles and details that could easily be remedied to live up to the company name, Premier Stays Fife!
