We enjoyed our stay overall, but would we come back if we return to El Nido?
- Probably not, mainly due to the location and accessibility.
The property is about 15 minutes by ride from town, and it’s not walkable in a practical sense. The road leading to it is unpaved, uneven, and completely dark at night (no lighting at all). To reach restaurants or shops, you’d need to walk ~15 minutes to the main road or take a ride.
At night, it’s pitch dark, so unless you’re comfortable walking through jungle-like surroundings with a flashlight, getting food can be challenging. We did walk it once and it felt like a quick “adventure” but it’s definitely not for everyone. They give you the details of a couple restaurants where you can order from, but we didn't try those.
Rose was absolutely outstanding, a 10/10. Extremely responsive on WhatsApp, always kind. Breakfast was always served quickly, simple but good. Options are limited (eggs with an add-on or pancakes, and some fruit). If you’re staying multiple days and want variety, you’ll likely prefer going into town. Genuinely caring, even while busy with her own family. You can really feel the warm, local hospitality from her and her family.
The property is clean and well-maintained. Nice local vibe with a very peaceful atmosphere. Smart TV with streaming options (great for relaxing evenings) and a very well kept cute garden area. We even saw buffalos nearby, which added to the experience. Internet worked "enough" most of the time.
There were multiple power outages (around 4 during our stay), but to their credit, the owners always fixed it quickly using a generator.
One of the best parts of our trip was a private boat tour. We visited Entalula Island, Helicopter Island, Shimizu Island, Big Lagoon, Snake Island.
Laundry was okay but not great. Clothes didn’t have the typical fresh machine-wash smell. Likely hand-washed (which is fine, but worth mentioning). Price was reasonable, though not particularly cheap.
We personally feel the property is slightly overpriced, mainly due to the remote location, limited next-door food options, fairly basic offerings overall. That said, the hospitality and cleanliness do add value.
One thing we didn’t particularly like was the lack of photos of the exterior surroundings on their listing. When we arrived, we were surprised to find that the access road and paths are unpaved and uneven. It wasn’t a major issue for us, but it would have been helpful to know in advance. Including photos of the path to the property would improve transparency and help guests set the right expectations.
The driver service wasn’t very reliable during our stay. Twice, he was unavailable despite telling us he would be, which forced us to quickly find alternative transport. He was a really nice guy though!
We had a pleasant stay mainly due to the kindness of the hosts, the peaceful environment, and the overall cleanliness. However, due to the location and accessibility, we would likely explore other options next time for a better price-to convenience balance. No regrets. We appreciate Rose and wish her the best in the business, and especially to her babies!

- le ménage n'est pas fait tous les jours
- le rapport qualité - prix est très moyen à notre avis, c'est vraiment cher pour la prestation et par rapport à d'autres logements qu'on a pu avoir
