This was our favourite stay so far in Japan. The hosts were so lovely, kind and hospitable. The house is extremely clean and facilities were top tier (amazing shower). We loved the stay and the hosts, we went to their restaurant in the evening and it was the best meal we have had and very reasonable. 10/10 experience, we wish we could have stayed 1 more night! Thank you for having us x

The hosts were delightfully welcoming and helpful when we arrived in the pouring rain. We were given towels to dry our bags and delicious grapes. They then gave us a map with recommendations as we explored beautiful Kiso-Fukushima. The free laundry was extremely welcomed and the amenities were fantastic. The beds are also so comfortable. In the morning the hosts kindly drove us to the station, which meant we didn’t have to walk in the rain. True Japanese hospitality.

Takumisou was our best stay in Japan. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, and you can tell they take real pride in sharing their home and the Kiso Valley with their guests. They offered us rides to and from town and gave us great advice for exploring. By the end of our stay, it felt more like we were staying with family than at a guesthouse. An incredibly warm and memorable experience that ended up being one of the highlights of our entire trip.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. The husband drove me to two onsens but both were closed. He also drove us to dinner and to the train station the next morning. We ate at their restaurant and the meal was excellent. The beds were comfortable and our room had nice view over their garden. it was in a very quiet neighborhood.
There is very little within walking distance, no onsen or restaurants and it took over 30 minutes to reach the accommodation by public bus. After a long day hiking the Nakasendo trail I was ready to rest. There is only one bathroom for all the guests. There were five guests in total and we had to wait to access bathroom and the one toilet. The room upstairs where we stayed was plain and tired, it could use new furniture. The room on the ground floor was Japanese style and much nicer. I am not sure where the common room was supposed to be, the kitchen or front room? It felt like we were staying at the owners' house not in a guesthouse.
