Mateo's place is amazing! The apartment has everything we needed for a four day stay - a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. spotless cleanliness, and even a surprisingly cool little library. What truly made our stay special was the neighborhood. San Lorenzo is a unique district in Rome — artsy and alternative. Every corner has vibrant street art, counter-culture details, cozy bars, quirky galleries, and hybrid bookshop-libraries. It feels like a completely different side of Rome that you rarely hear about — and that’s a good thing! No tourist crowds, just an authentic, youthful buzz. People hang out on the streets, and the overall vibe is relaxed and welcoming. Our host Mateo left us excellent guidelines where to eat and drink, and they were spot on. Despite the lively neighborhood, the apartment itself was perfectly quiet. We were traveling with a small child, and there were no issues at all with noise or sleeping. This place is a real gem. If you're looking to experience the genuine, day-to-day life of Rome — beyond the usual tourist path — this is the apartment and host for you!
