Comfortable self catering cabin set in wooded countryside. Quiet area just outside Killin .wooded hill walk to water falls.

We spent wonderful several days in Killin Highland lodges, we liked the location which is very close to the city, great views, very comfortable lodge, and lots of space and activities in the outside area as well, including fire pit and basketball ring. It was so enjoyable to sit and breakfast by the table outside and enjoy the nature.
When we arrived on Saturday afternoon, there was no staff and we did not receive any message about how our cottage was named. We could not reach by the phone call and discovered our cottage just by pure luck - it was open and there was our name on it. On Sunday we also wanted to have a barbecue but it was not clear how to reach staff either, as it seemed like nobody was present in the park. And the last bit, which totally surprised me, is that the towels were not provided and needed to be paid for separately - to be honest, this was the first time in all my travel history, and completely unexpected, for quite a considerable booking fee (~100GBP per night). As we also did not know how to reach the staff in order to purchase them, we had to use our T-shirts to dry ourselves after the shower.

It was damp and smelly and run down. Carpets were old and musty. Kitchen and. Bathroom were in need of upgrading.
