Hanoi Wanderlust Hostel & Travel

The breakfast is very nice, lots of choice and good quantities. The rooms are clean and well equipped and the staff is always kind and ready to help you. We got our physical sim card from them. Also it's nice the free beer in the evening, good for meeting other travelers or even enjoying by yourself. Nice view from the rooftop. The position is perfect and the beds are spacious. Absolutely recommend!! :)

Muy cómodo, seguro, buenos lockers para guardar con seguridad tus pertenencias. Cada habitación tiene un baño lo que lo hace muy práctico. Nos sentimos muy cómodos, staff muy amigable.

En mi experiencia la tarjeta para abrir la puerta de la habitación no funcionaba muy bien. Pero en general me sentí segura.

Great hostel , super friendly staff , the hostel is located in the center of Hanoi so everything is walkable . Comfy beds , a great breakfast buffet , nice terrace . I come back and already look forward to it !

The location is very convenient, right in the city center, although it gets a bit noisy at night. The breakfast is substantial (eggs, tofu, rice/vermicelli, bananas, bread, tomatoes, cucumber) but could be more varied (pancakes/cake, more fruits and vegetables). The coffee is decent, but the juice is much too diluted. The happy hour between at the bar is nice for socializing. The bartender, Toow, is extremely kind, pleasant, and helpful.

There is no kitchenette to store or heat up food, which is a big downside. Although I was given permission to keep my food in the small fridge near the entrance, it was thrown away the same day. My locker was often not working and I had to go twice a day to the staff to open it and get my stuff. The bathroom also gets messy because the shower doors are too small and water heavily spills out into the bathroom, implying constantly cleaning afterwards. However, the main issue was booking a tour through the hostel. The organization was extremely unprofessional. We were given no information beforehand (company in charge, bus to take, hostel,..). We were sent in a private taxi to the bus station with no staff. The taxi driver didn’t speak English and dropped us off without telling us which bus to take or giving us any tickets. We had to ask around using Google Translate to eventually find our bus, which only had our first names on a list. Later, the driver insisted that I would be dropped off separately from the group at evening, which was very stressful. I had to contact the hostel myself to resolve the situation, as there was clearly no communication between them. Most importantly, there were serious safety concerns on the last day of the tour. The driver was highly speeding on a slippery road to get back on time, and most of the day’s program was skipped due to poor organization and lack of communication between the team running the tour and the one booking the return buses. When I raised these issues with the woman in charge at the hostel, Khan Van (Vivian), she was completely unhelpful and very disrespectful. She kept gaslighting me changing the facts and insisting that everything was normal, even though she had not been there herself. My concerns were completely dismissed. I decided not to got back for the additional night paid with their hostel after the 4 day tour because of their lack of professionalism, assistance and acknowledgement of their failures.
