The room was large and very comfortable. A wonderful bed and great shower. The hotel is located in a very convenient location for accessing all the areas of the town I wanted to visit. I was able to park easily immediately outside the hotel, even though I could not get an 'official' hotel parking spot.
There were two things I did not like about the room. One, it was a basement room which was accessed via outside steps. I hadn't realised this would be the case. Two, because it faced the street, there was some noise in the evening. However, this did not disturb my sleep at all.

Very comfy bed and good breakfast.
£270 for a character-less room. Deluxe room was not deluxe. Big, yes but no personality. Very bland decor. Mould in the shower on the grouting. I stated it was our first anniversary and not even a cheap bottle of Prosecco in the room. Considering it's obvious we live in Harrogate and chose this hotel as a treat, you'd think they would have treated us to something special as locals. But no, nothing to make us recommend the hotel in future. Also the staff at checking were bored and disengaged. Our directions to Hugel were "first floor and turn left" but really its "first floor, turn left, walk all along the corridor and the room is on the right". We wondered if we were on the wrong floor.
