Welcome to Frankie Starlight, our family’s classic Nantucket beach cottage in Madaket — a place to slow down, reconnect and experience the quieter side of the island.

Set between the beach and Hither Creek, Frankie Starlight offers beautiful water views and easy access to Madaket Beach, Millie’s, the bike path and the NRTA shuttle to town.

But what makes this house special is simply being here.

Spend the morning at the beach, come home for an outdoor shower, and settle into an Adirondack chair on the back deck as the famous Madaket sunset fills the sky. After dark, listen to the waves and look up at a sky filled with stars.

THE HOUSE

Frankie Starlight comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, including separate guest accommodations that provide additional privacy for extended families, older children or another couple.

The main house has two spacious bedrooms with private bathrooms, a comfortable family room, and an open, well-equipped kitchen for everything from morning coffee to family dinners.

The separate guest cottage provides its own sleeping area and private bathroom — one of our favorite features when traveling with a larger family or multiple generations.

The house is comfortable rather than formal. This is a true Nantucket beach house designed for families to relax and enjoy themselves.

THE MADAKET EXPERIENCE

Madaket is one of the few places on Nantucket that still feels wonderfully removed from the crowds.

Walk to the beach. Ride bikes. Take the shuttle into town when you feel like it. Walk over to Millie’s for dinner, drinks, ice cream or provisions.

Then come home to the quiet.

One of our favorite traditions is loading the beach cart at the end of the day and heading down to the water for the sunset. Bring dinner, a picnic and something to drink and watch the sun disappear into the water.

It’s simple — and that’s exactly the point.

You can stop at the grocery store when you arrive, stock the kitchen and discover that you hardly need your car for the rest of the week.

PERFECT FOR FAMILIES

We have a large family ourselves, and Frankie Starlight works particularly well when several generations or families vacation together.

There is enough common space to spend time together and enough separation when everyone needs a little space of their own.

Kids love the yard, beach, bikes and trips to Millie’s. Adults tend to gravitate toward the deck, water views, sunsets and peaceful evenings.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome too.

WHY MADKET?

Nantucket Town is wonderful — and we love visiting it.

But at the end of the day, we’re always happy to come back west.

Madaket offers something increasingly difficult to find: the feeling of old Nantucket.

Beaches, bicycles, salty air, quiet roads, spectacular sunsets and time together without needing an itinerary.

Frankie Starlight isn’t a hotel or a formal luxury resort.

It’s our family’s Nantucket beach house, and we’re happy to share it with families who will enjoy it as much as we do.
