Dust under TVs in bedrooms. Floors were not very clean. A glob of dog hair was in front of the refrigerator. I tried to vacuum with the upright in closet. It didn’t pick up very good. Otherwise house was clean, bathrooms and kitchen! Host returned calls and texts promptly. Pool service came every couple days. Kids and adults did not like the concrete floor in pool. My granddaughter got her knees roughed up. Pool was clean and we enjoyed it. Palm tree secreted a substance that made a mess of anything under it. The house was spacious as we only ended up with 6-8 people. Some could not come due to work. I’m answering this as if I were in your shoes. All in all, it’s a very nice place. Parking is great. I would recommend speaking to your cleaning staff concerning the floors. Do you have any rentals with newer pools? No concrete.

The house was very nice. The pool & pool furniture was lovely, just perfect. The short walk to the beach was wonderful. We would stay here again. Our host was very nice and helpful, too.

Full disclosure. Owner charged us additional $150 for pet hair on furniture and bed spreads being left on the floor in a few rooms. We are not in agreement with the additional charge but that aside here is an honest assessment.
First we were made to wait well past the 4 pm check in as the cleaning crew was still there. We found the property to be dated. There was a soft spot in the floor inside the entry door that felt like a trampoline. There was a broken towel rack in a bathroom which we notified the owner of and they informed us that someone would call to come and fix it. We never received a call. We also had an ant infestation in the kitchen. We contacted the owner and they indicated they would call an exterminator but we would have to leave the property for three hours. This was an issue as we had a dog and would not have been able to keep him occupied in the heat for that amount of time. We decided to just deal with it. We cleaned before leaving and never had additional charges in a rental.
It is frustrating when the guest is willing to deal with issues that arise in a rental but the host does not reciprocate. It is also concerning that bed spreads are not laundered between guests. The location is nice but the residence is overrated at 5 stars. It is a 3 star at best. Even if we had not received the additional charge, we would not have rebooked since we have stayed at nicer places in Surfside, but the hospitality of the host was just as distasteful.
