About this cabin rental
This charming recently remodeled 2 bedroom 1 bathroom cabin located in the West Village features all the amenities you could want as a getaway. Inside the front door, you enter into the dining room area with a table to feed 4 comfortably. The dining room is also open to the living room which has a comfortable couch, recliner, a large flat screen TV and a vintage chest with extra pillows and blankets. We have set up Dish TV and all your basic satellite channels. Broadband internet is a must in this modern age, so don't worry about staying connected with our complimentary WIFI. THE NEW IKEA KITCHEN has ample cabinet and counter space with all new stainless steel appliances. THE NEW IKEA BATHROOM has new cabinets, a new sink, flooring and more. Inside the 1st bedroom we have a comfortable queen size bed with a closet. Inside the 2nd bedroom you have another queen size bed, again with a closet for your belongings. Outside, there are two decks, one off the dining area and the other outside the sliding glass door. We also have a BBQ for guests to use (bring your own briquettes!) Within walking distance to the lake (a trek for some people), the town of Shaver, and all the restaurants. This cabin is great to get out of the heat and into the pines! Shaver Lake is a great town to come and getaway from the hustle of city life. At 5500 feet elevation, the air is cool and the sun is warm. We have many local events; some of the best 4th of july Fireworks, The Black Pot Event, Climb to Kaiser, The Loggers Jamboree, The Car Show, The Wild Run, China Peak's Mud Run, The High Sierra Regatta and so much more. There is great fishing, hiking, biking trails, horse back riding, kayaking, wake boarding, water skiing, snow boarding, snow skiing, and so much more.

This was a good location for us as we wanted to be in the Sierras but also w/i driving distance to other scenic areas (Yosemite, Sequoia, etc.). It was within a short walk to town. The town of Shaver Lake is very small so hours open can vary from business to business significantly. We got the feeling that it’s more of a ski town and less of a summer place, but even tho we were there in June, we were still able to find a place to eat (Shaver Lake pizza is great!). The cabin itself was cute and comfortable. We were worried because we love a soft mattress and these felt very firm, but despite this, we actually slept really well all 4 nights! The only disappointment with this sweet little cabin was the lack of hospitality type amenities. It was missing things like scrub brushes/sponges for cleaning dishes (I noticed some dishes hadn’t been cleaned well likely bc of this…we had to use a dish rag to clean our dishes). There were only 2 rolls of toilet paper for us (we stayed 4 nights and there were 3 people). We had to run to the local grocery store to get TP. We also had only 3 small, thin “extra” blankets and it still gets cold at night. We love to sleep with the windows cracked and snuggle up at night, but the lack of big blankets made that difficult. It would have also been nice to have more towels available so we didn’t have to re-use. Since it’s a remote location, more amenities like this would help to make the cabin homey.

Great little cabin but unfortunately the slate floors were very dirty and night stands in both bedrooms had not been cleaned of sticky fluid spills. Kitchen was well equipt and other than floors was clean

Was really nice and cozy very clean and well maintained could use heating in the rooms it’s a bit cold during the colder weathers. Also could use better lighting in the rooms it’s a bit dark. Over all it’s a really nice place to stay and sleep.
