Cottage 1 is one of three matching lakefront cottages at Sunnyside Cottages in Greenbush, Michigan. Two bedrooms, one bath, a full kitchen, and a living area with TV and Wi-fi. Every stay includes access to Sunnyside's shared grounds: a private beach, fire pit, shuffleboard, and picnic tables with grills. Simple, comfortable, and right on Lake Huron's Sunrise Coast.
You'll get full check-in details before you arrive, and we're just a message or call away if anything comes up during your stay — whether that's a restaurant recommendation or the best time to catch the sunrise. You're not routed through a call center; you're talking to the people actually managing the property.
Sunnyside Cottages sits on Lake Huron in Greenbush, Michigan, right along US-23 between Harrisville and Oscoda.

Guests will have access to their private 2-bedroom cottage, along with several shared amenities throughout the property.
Shared areas include:
- Lake Huron Beach Access – Direct access to the beach just steps from the cottages, great for swimming, beach days, and watching the sunrise.
- Fire Pit & Picnic Area – A shared gathering spot with picnic tables and grills for evenings outdoors.
- Lawn Games – Shuffleboard, beach volleyball, and a putting green scattered around the property.
- Loungers & Swings – Additional beach seating, available seasonally (not set up October through March).
- WiFi – Available throughout each cottage.
Each cottage is fully private, but the outdoor spaces are shared and designed to give the whole property a relaxed, lakeside-retreat feel.

- Alpena, with the nearest regional airport, is about an hour north.
Once you're here, plenty of guests are happy just settling in at the cottage and walking down to the beach.
Pets are welcome with prior approval — $25/night per dog. Dogs should be potty-trained and under 50 lbs; if yours is bigger, reach out and we'll see what we can do. Please clean up after your pet and keep them leashed in shared spaces.
Traveling with a bigger group? Sunnyside has nine cottages total, so if availability allows, we can often book you more than one — just message us and we'll sort it out.
House Rules: No parties or large gatherings. No drugs or illegal substances. Violating these rules may result in fees or immediate eviction without a refund — we appreciate your help keeping things peaceful for everyone on the property.
Sound: This cottage has an open-ceiling layout between rooms, so sound carries easily. Great for families or close friends staying together — just know bedrooms won't be fully private acoustically.
Water: We're on well water — safe to drink, though some guests notice a metallic taste. Distilled water is available at nearby stores.
What to bring: toiletries, beach towels (we provide bath towels), charcoal if you're grilling, cooking basics like oil and salt, groceries, and a lighter or fire starters if you'll use the fire pit.
What we provide: coffee, dishwasher pods, trash bags, paper towels, two starter rolls of toilet paper, and firewood for the fire pit.

The property location was perfect. With the beach just outside our door and a wonderful view, it was what I needed to unwind. Two things stand out as being negative. First, the water inside was hard to get used to. It had an awful taste and bad smell. Had to brush my teeth using bottle water. Second was the lighting in the entire cabin. Every light seemed to be about 40 watts. It was almost impossible to read after the sun went down. The positive things were definitely the cost, the location, and very nice new windows. They were very easy to raise and lower. The beds were very comfortable and the living room was comfortable too. The kitchen was stocked with a variety of cookware and dishes. Suggestions to improve:Make sure the kitchen has a potholder. After heating something in the oven, I couldn’t find one and had to get a towel out of the bathroom to remove the hot pan. Get rid of tacky decor—like dirty, moldy looking wax fruit on kitchen table. No decor is better than decor that is uncared for. It was fun to sit around a campfire with neighbors. A very friendly group.
