This is my 3rd time to stay in Ahiruyah, and as usual, I know they try their best to accommodate requests prior to check-in. I have stayed previously in rooms with bunk beds and while that has always been a pleasant experience, I wanted to try the solo room. I was not disappointed because I was given the corner solo room, where I could see the dimsum and fruit juice stores across the street. It was roomy, with 3 single beds and full of natural light. Kaohsiung doesn't really experience winter, and every morning I would enjoy the sunlight in my room.
The receptionists are always friendly as well. I got to meet Anne again, and Ella was also very helpful. English might not be their native language but I always see them trying their best to help me navigate Kaohsiung, and they suggest the best modes of transportation to get where I wanted to go for the day. I stayed at the solo room for 2 nights, and I wanted to extend my stay. Unfortunately, the rooms were already booked so I had to transfer to the female rooms with bunkbeds for the rest of my stay.
Ahiruyah doesn't offer breakfast options for the guests, but there's always free coffee, tea and the occasional snacks shared to guests.

Was given an upper bunk bed, so it was inconvenient to climb up and down.
Not enough space in the room for those with luggage.
Noisy even after 10:30pm.
Guests have to remove pillow case and quilt cover before checking out.
