The Iron Ore features stylish decor and thoughtful touches across two levels:
- Gourmet Gathering: A fully stocked kitchen with a custom built-in dining nook and a large island (seating for 3) makes morning coffee and group brunches a breeze.
- The Coffee Bar: A dedicated, fully stocked station to jumpstart your mornings.
- Primary Suite (2nd Floor): King Bed + luxurious en-suite bathroom.
- Bedroom 2 (2nd Floor): Queen Bed.
- Bedroom 3 (1st Floor): Queen Bed.
- Extra Space: A comfortable Queen pull-out sleeper in the family room.
- Entertainment: Family room stocked with games for all ages and an HD TV for movie nights.
🔥Whimsical Outdoor Living: Our backyard is designed for memories.
- The Fire Pit: Kick back by our whimsical solar-lit fire pit. Firewood is provided year-round, and we include a complimentary S'mores kit (Spring, Summer, and early Fall)!
- Outdoor patio: Enjoy outdoor seating, a propane grill, and a picnic table for al-fresco dining.

- Walkable: Less than 1 mile to downtown Oconomowoc’s dining, shops, and boardwalk.
- Lakeside: Two lakes are within walking distance—perfect for a morning stroll to Lac La Belle beach.
- Day Trips: Easy access to Milwaukee (30 mins), Madison (1 hr), or Chicago (2 hrs).
🐶 Looking to bring your furry friend?
Up to 2 dogs are allowed. Crate as needed. Please pick up after your dog outside. Dog owners are asked to cover the furniture and bedding with provided blankets. An extra $100 cleaning fee is charged, if dog hair is found on couches, beds or the dog is not cleaned up after, inside or outside. $150+ charge for additional biohazard cleaning if needed.
🚂A Note on the Neighborhood
We are located in a quiet residential "No Horn" zone. While the backyard does back up to tracks, trains do not blow whistles here.
🗓️Looking for a longer stay this winter or spring? Our stylish home in a quiet neighborhood is perfect for extended stays. Reach out for special seasonal pricing!
The Iron Ore Retreat is a non-smoking residence which includes any kind of smoking (vaping, cigars, e-cigarettes, etc.).
Guest access
The entire home is private and you will be provided with a key code for entry the day before your check-in.

There is a pull-out sofa sleeper in the family room downstairs.
The garage and basement are reserved for personal use and will not be available for use during your stay.
The home is in a neighborhood with neighbors nearby. Security camera overlooking driveway and front porch. No cameras facing interior of home.

This property was exactly as described (or actually even better) and a great location. The owners have thought of every detail including s’mores, dog treats, coffee pods and sundry items if needed. Communication with the host was easy and questions answered quickly. We would definitely stay here again.

The house was very comfortable for our family of three and dog. We appreciated having a drip coffee maker and very comfortable beds. The house is in a quiet and walkable neighborhood - a lake is just a couple blocks away. We wished the weather was warmer so we could enjoy the nice fire pit and grill.Jason was quick to respond and helpful when we had questions.

We really enjoyed our stay at this pet-friendly home. We loved that it was well maintained, super clean, and fully stocked with all the essentials. Location was perfect for us! We will stay here again the next time we come to Milwaukee.

This Iron Ore rental was absolutely fabulous! Everything was top notch. The place was SUPER clean, the beds and bedding very comfortable, and the host provided all the amenities needed, right down to three different ways to have your morning coffee! The hosts were very attentive with quick responses to any questions or requests. We will definitely stay here again if we’re in the Oconomowoc area!
