Are you looking for a vacation to enjoy one of the most versatile lakes in the Upper Peninsula for summer fun, a beautiful landscape to take in fall foliage, or a winter skiing and snowmobiling paradise? If so, you have found your vacation getaway!
Our cottage is in the most perfect location to enjoy all the Copper Country has to offer. We are just a few miles outside of Lake Linden, 48137 Bootjack Road on Portage Lake. Our cottage will host you with a variety of convenient amenities including an outdoor fireplace on concrete patio, open concept full kitchen/dining/living room, 2 bedrooms, laundry area, sauna with shower, and one bathroom.
As a summer retreat, the house is just feet from the waters edge with a wonderful sandy bottom for swimming fun. The fall foliage is breathtaking in the autumn months. As a winter wonderland, you can get on the snowmobile trail in under a mile away. Or maybe you want an extended stay to visit your student at Michigan Tech University. We are just over about 17 miles away from Houghton/Hancock. Also, Copper Harbor is just a car ride away!

This really is a 5 star property. Unfortunately our first impression upon arrival was very disappointing: the dock had been pulled up (the tiny "beach" is ridiculous for launching our kayak), and ALL the patio furniture and even the grill were gone. 88 degrees and sunny, too hot to sit in the house (yes, the AC was gone too), and no place to sit outside! We had to contact the property manager because there was only 1 fan and it couldn't cool the entire house. We received a call back, he was incredulous there was no AC units, but then nothing until a text from the owner after 9pm saying we could leave if we wanted to. With nothing available nearby he offered a partial refund and we stuck it out. We were rewarded with 4 days of incredible sunsets, peaceful yoga on the empty patio, and eventually on the last day it cooled. The dryer works fine, BTW, just need to clean the filter first! Communication is key, and don't trust the listing: confirm what amenities are actually available!

This property was right on the lake and we really enjoyed the indoor sauna! It was a great place to stay, really clean and had everything we needed for a great stay!

We enjoyed being right on the water, with our relatives just down the road. We always enjoy staying here! It's so relaxing.
