About this lodge
The Sonoran Traveler is #3 of the 4 suites and 1 cabin at Spin & Margie's Desert Hideaway, a quiet retreat on 29 Palms Highway, less than 5 minutes from the center of Joshua Tree. This stylish room has a kitchenette and a small second room with a bunk bed (fullsize on the bottom, and a twin bed above) perfect for children, family or additional friends. The room has its own separate mini-courtyard, which lets out into our larger shared courtyard oasis. Situated on our secluded private grounds with a beautiful swimming pool and ample free parking. We do ask that guests respect quiet hours after 10pm.

Such a beautiful home base for us as we toured Joshua Tree National Park each day. It was our little oasis. I was traveling with a childhood friend, so we chose the Sonoran Traveler for the two bedrooms. Beds were so comfortable. Beautiful light coming in all day long. A lovely courtyard for sitting and reading and having coffee. Nice to have evening air coming in-- windows on three sides of the unit (including the small bathroom window). We didn't use the AC since temps were not too hot and because the trees really keep the unit quite cool and comfortable. I enjoyed seeing the sunrise from the little step outside my bedroom door. And we sure loved our private courtyard as well as all the other outdoor spaces on the property, with such thoughtful seating/tables/decorations. Surrounded by hummingbirds and songbirds and flowers blooming and gorgeous tree canopy. What a sweet place. Everyone was so friendly. I would not hesitate to book again. This was just what we needed, and I do hope to be back again. We were commenting that this (with the multiple units) would be an amazing place to book for a group.

The hosts were friendly; the suite was clean and inviting and the kitchen was well stocked. This was one of the most relaxing stays we have ever had, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Joshua Tree, California.

Kitchen was fully equipped for cooking, property was very clean, sitting area very nice, did not use pool only stayed night and was there late and out early. Overall the stay is nice, mattress was not great but ok, but we all have better mattresses at home so not going to ding it for that.

Amazing spot! Had everything we needed, all in a perfect location with beautiful grounds and views! Joel stopped by to introduce himself and make sure everything was okay on our first day there. Cannot recommend this little gem in the desert enough! Certainly hope to return one day!
