Arrived much later than the arranged check in, even so the staff were welcoming and friendly. The pub is a popular local 'gastro' pub with a 'regulars' public bar. Unfortunately I was too late to eat the first night. Room was spacious, clean, and a large comfy bed. Stayed two nights. The second night I ate in the restaurant. After a long day outdoors in the wind and rain at Fulbeck, the beef wellington with seasonal veg and mash absolutely hit the spot. Had a good night sleep. Room is quite.
The room is minimal, but comfortable, and clean. Perfectly adequate. And in terms of price comparison for the area is definitely good value.
Was only there two nights but had the sense if staying longer the staff would be easy to get on with. They all seemed friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.
Shower needed time to warm up ( knowing that on the second morning I turned it on several minutes before needed to allow it to warm up) and the water pressure was disappointing. It did the job, but I find it's a common problem with so many hotel showers, and appreciate it's a personal thing, as I like a hot powerful shower.

Great value for money. A lovely, busy pub in a small village setting. The room was very clean, with plenty of space and good facilities. Great food in the pub, friendly service, we had a lovely evening.
Shower a little low for a tall person. Lack of mirrors in the bedroom to dry hair or check clothes.

Staff friendly.
Rooms are very tired and basic. Our bathroom had rotten wood, rusty radiators and old/dirty sealant in shower etc. We were given the tiniest bottle of shower gel to use as soap for hand washing. The bathroom door also wouldn't shut properly unless you slammed it, which I'm sure our neighbouring rooms didn't appreciate.
The bed is cheap quality and I've never had such thin pillows to sleep on. We had to roll up towels to use underneath them.
No hairdryers provided.
We also had to turn off the mini fridge in the room as it was so noisy.
We booked breakfast for Saturday morning, which was £15pp upfront. The young chef was a friendly guy, but no menus given and just asked what we would like. Tea and coffee offered but we had to ask if there was any juice available. Good breakfast provided in the end. But you really should provide menus and descriptions, especially for dietary requirements.
My parents room, again, was very tired and they couldn't open their windows in their room, so it was quite stuffy.
We would have discussed this with staff during our stay (as I don't like writing negative reviews) but we were busy with attending a wedding, so didn't spend a lot of time at the property. Again, would have given feedback at checkout but as I handed keys back to a chef (no other staff seemed to be around at the time) I didn't think it was appropriate to discuss our disappointment with him. The pub itself is what a village pub should be, and was busy when we arrived on Friday night. Some money and care spent on the rooms would bring them up to the same standard as the rest of the establishment.
