A Raw, Nature-Filled Stay Made Special by Yoell đżâ¤ď¸
Our arrival at Liyon Hotel was definitely an experience! đ The initial trail leading up to the hotel scared us a little, but the moment we started taking in the panoramic views surrounding the property, we quickly forgot about the adventurous route.
When we arrived, we noticed what seemed to be just one person running the entire showâour host, Yoell! He was literally running up and down the floors, getting our room ready, checking on things and making sure everything was in place. Despite seemingly handling everything himself, he was always calm, humble and welcoming.
We stayed at Liyon Hotel for just one day, but it was enough for Yoell to leave a lasting impression. He introduced us to our first authentic Sri Lankan breakfast, and wow, what a treat! As a vegetarian, I was initially a little sceptical about what I would find, but that first bite completely proved me wrong. It was absolutely delicious and a wonderful introduction to Sri Lankan cuisine.
Since the hotel is located along a relatively raw trail surrounded by nature, you should expect a few of natureâs little visitorsâespecially at night. We had a few bugs making their way into our room, and on three different occasions, we called Yoell to help us out. Every single time, he came without hesitation and took care of it for us. đ
He also went out of his way to help us arrange transport to the famous Nine Arch Bridge and later organise our journey down south to Dikwella. These little things made a big difference to our stay.
Yoell is genuinely a gem of a personâhumble, helpful and always ready to make sure his guests have the best possible experience.
If you're looking for a polished, conventional hotel experience, the location and natural surroundings may take some getting used to.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel in Ella. The staff were absolutely fantastic: always smiling, very helpful, attentive and available to meet our every need. They really did everything to make sure our stay went as smoothly as possible.

Der var rent og pÌnt og nÌsten nyt. Ejeren var sød til at køre mig. Enkel men god morgenmad.
Der var ingen biler eller tuk tuk der kunne køre ned til huset fordi vejen var sü dürligt. Gardiner til vÌrelser kunne ikke trÌkkes helt for hvilket var lidt udbehageligt nür det var mørkt uden for. Meget lydt fra underboen og mange larmende hunde i omrüdet.
