Welcome to The Zigzag House — a one-of-a-kind desert escape splashed in sun-faded hues and filled with character. Inside, you’ll find artwork by renowned photographer Robert Stivers, alongside playful design touches and lived-in charm. The home features one master bedroom with a full bed, plus two tiny single-bed rooms ideal for singles. There's one bathroom, wall A/C units for those blazing desert days, and space heaters to keep you warm on cooler nights.
Step outside and you're in Zig Zag Piazza — a vibrant art plaza featuring an eclectic sculpture garden, the Bombay Beach Museum of Bombay Beach, a massive 60-person dining table, an open-air kitchen, and plenty of space to gather, lounge, or reflect under the stars. It’s a place where meals become events and strangers become collaborators.
Just blocks from the shoreline of the Salton Sea and surrounded by renegade art installations, The Zigzag House is more than a place to stay — it’s a node in the living, breathing experiment that is Bombay Beach.
Please note that Zig Zag Piazza is open to the public and often has tourists wandering through to take pictures.

It was our first time at Bombay Beach. Unfortunately it had rained so much it was too mucky to explore as much as we wanted. Tao was very communicative & we had everything we needed.

Bombay Beach was an incredibly fun and unique trip. I’m so glad we chose the Zigzag House for our stay. The home was beautifully decorated, clean, and cozy. We truly enjoyed exploring the art throughout the community and along the beach. Our host was very easy to contact and extremely helpful. I highly recommend visiting and staying here.
