It was beautiful and spacious, it has a lot of charm and everything you need without being cluttered. The presentation is very good, this is a loved property by its owners for sure.
The stay had a few signs of age/wear but it didn’t affect the quality of our stay. Some small maintenance items only.
My only criticism of the property, was that immediately on booking, we received a list of rules (no parties and no people over qty 6 incl children) - this immediately put me ill at ease. Our trip was to attend a sporting event and we planned to travel with family, hence choosing a house with multiple bed options. To be told immediately after paying up front (4 months in advance also btw) that we cannot have over 6 people, well this meant the cousins couldn’t stay- despite there being ample bedding provided (6 beds and a porta cot)
We had the option of a refund, but we didn’t want to
Cancel as the location was excellent.
It’s also confusing to say, no parties, what constitutes a party? If we were to have a bbq dinner and invite our parents from their accomodation, is that a party?
We had a constant sense that someone was monitoring the house during our stay which made it had to relax and enjoy the property.
This was confounded by additional rules on arrival, no high heels on the flooring, no ball play on the grass etc. I think for these reasons we would likely not book again with a family, which is a shame because we loved it.
