We had the most lovely stay at Il San Gaetano. Marcella and Antonio were the most gracious of hosts and it felt like we were visiting family versus staying at a hotel. The location in the historic center of Sorrento was so convenient and just steps away from restaurants, shopping and the beach. Even though we were in the city center, Il San Gaetano felt like a hidden oasis. The courtyard and home are so charming and rich with history. Marcella made wonderful homemade breakfast and coffee every morning which we enjoyed under the shade of lemon trees. We participated in a cooking class with Marcella making homemade pasta and lemon custard and then all dined together in the courtyard. The rooms are unique and spacious and very well appointed. Everything about this stay was wonderful. I highly recommend Il San Gaetano to anyone who wants a warm, authentic and beautiful stay in Sorrento.

The property was beautiful. You enter through a beautiful garden and are greeted by amazing hosts. Marcella and Antonio are the kindest, warmest hosts. They have all the amenities of a hotel but they make you feel like you are staying with two close friends. Our room was clean and well kept. And breakfast was a full spread of homemade local cuisine. And fresh cappuccinos every morning!

Of the five cities we stayed in during our Italy trip, Il San Gaetano was the perfect stay for our six-person family vacation. The property had immense, beautifully maintained common areas where we could all relax and enjoy time together, while still offering comfortable bedroom accommodations that gave everyone privacy.
The location was excellent, right in the heart of Sorrento, and we never needed a car. Everything was easy to reach on foot.
Marcella, the property manager, was beyond accommodating, warm, and sociable. She truly made the stay even better. Her courtyard was beautiful, and the breakfast spreads were wonderful. The whole experience felt welcoming, comfortable, and very special.
There was a section of the property undergoing renovation for a new elevator, but this was only a minor issue. Honestly, once completed, the elevator will be a great addition to an already excellent property.
