Room is very clean. We can tell that it's been upgraded with new flooring (no old stinky carpets). Good size room with a single seat sofa, a chair, a microwave, mini fridge and TV. Wi-fi works amazingly well in our room. Staff were very friendly and addressed the requests we asked (extra pillows, being on the ground floor, etc.). Our stay was very comfortable and pleasant.
The bathroom fan was LOUD, but it can be turned off when we went to bed, so it's not so bad. The air conditioning is old and the nob for strength is broken so not adjustable, the only thing we can do is to toggle between a/c or fan. Somehow the water in the shower does not stay as hot throughout, I had to keep making it hotter during my shower, but it's also okay because we visited in summer, not a huge dealbreaker.

Location was good and near many amenities but there are also a lot of homeless people in the area.
Like a lot of older properties in the city this has changed hands and minor renovations have been done and the price increased quite a bit. There are still a lot of deficiencies: the pool is non-operational, landscaping has not been kept up, the landing at the top of the stairs is unsafe and could fail at any time, stairs are in need of proper repair. New paint does not cover up an old structure and small repairs were needed: eg I had to tighten the doorknob as it was very loose, the vanity tap was loose and needed tightening. I feel as it is the price is too high and some major changes need to be made to justify the price.
