Well furnished apartment, but very noisy trains and small space.

Good things: - There is a small but good supermarket nearby. - 10 minute walk to metro, easy to get onto the Yamanote line (for visiting Shibuya, Shinjuku etc). - The WiFi worked well. - The apartment is well-equipped (hairdryer, cooking utensils, pen and pad, vacuum cleaner etc). - The shower worked well.

Bad things: - Honestly, the main reason for my low score for this rental is THE TRAINS. The apartment is very close to a train track (maybe 10m away) and trains go past every 2-3 minutes, between the hours of 6am and midnight - 12:30am (approx). Not only are the trains loud but there is a pedestrian crossing and a loud warning noise. Although the rental supplies earplugs I still could not sleep. In addition to the noise, the whole apartment/bed shakes every time a train goes past. I stayed for 6 nights and I slept very badly every night because of the trains. - Secondly, there is a warning sign on the wall that you should not make noise after 9pm or the neighbours may call the police. This seemed excessive to me, as in most places I stayed in in Japan, you were asked to keep the noise down after 10pm/11pm. - Based on those 2 reasons, I did not enjoy my stay and wished I'd rented somewhere else. It just seems like a bad choice of a location for a tourist rental (perhaps if you live there you get used to the trains eventually). - Finally, the apartment is pretty small, definitely smaller than I expected. I was travelling with one large backpack and one smaller backpack and I struggled to find space to store everything. I think for 2 people it would be very difficult.

Budget friendly but the trains make it an unenjoyable stay. Avoid unless you are a deep sleeper or on a very tight budge

It’s located near both Mejiro and Ikebukuro station which was very convenient for traveling and accessing other areas near Tokyo. It was also budget friendly for where it was in Tokyo.

1. The train line is 3 metres away from the entrance of the property and they run every 2 mins between 6:30am-12am.They also run from 12am-1am and 4:30am-6:30am at 30 minute intervals. The trains are incredibly loud within the property, and shakes the bed making sleep challenging. We ended up booking other hotels during our stay and just using the place as luggage storage due to sleep being so challenging. It really should be mentioned or photographed how close the train station was as we wouldn’t have booked if we knew. 2. The property was relatively clean but we found long hair throughout the property and clogging the shower drain belonging to either a previous guest or the host. There were also used ear plugs and headphones left on the shelves. There is also no information on how to dispose of rubbish once the bins get filled. 3. The property is very small in the loft room and doesn’t come with washing machine, or anywhere to really sit beyond the bed or two wooden stools. 4. The property mentions that loud noise after 9pm may result in police intervention which feels very intense, particularly considering I have never encountered a rule like this when staying in Japan as normally it’s a 10pm curfew.
