Our stay at South Beach Hotel, Ahangama was truly special and made our Sri Lankan south coast vacation unforgettable. What sets this hotel apart is not just its beautiful location and stunning ocean views, but above all, its exceptional hospitality and genuinely personalised service.
A very special mention goes to Manager Jude, who goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcomed, comfortable and well taken care of. His proactive approach, personal attention and genuine warmth make a huge difference. He personally ensures that every little detail is taken care of, making you feel less like a hotel guest and more like a valued friend. Hospitality like this is rare!
A big shout-out to the wonderful team – Amalsha, Malsha, Thisuri, Alwis and Sujith – for their warmth, attentiveness and excellent service throughout our stay. Each of them contributed to making our experience so memorable.
The location is simply fantastic. The hotel offers beautiful ocean views, lovely beach access and is also conveniently located near Koggala Lake, where you can enjoy an amazing boat ride through its scenic surroundings. It is also a great base for exploring Sri Lanka's south coast, with popular attractions and beaches such as the Rasta Rope Swing, Unawatuna Beach and Turtle Beach at Thalpe all within easy reach.
What we particularly loved is that the hotel strikes the perfect balance: close to all the happening places, cafes and attractions of the south coast, yet tucked away enough to offer an exclusive, peaceful and relaxing getaway. You get the best of both worlds!
The seaside restaurant deserves a special mention too. Great pizzas, delicious cocktails and gorgeous sunset views make it the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. Watching the sun go down with a cocktail by the ocean is an experience in itself!
And finally, a very heartfelt thank you to Jude and the entire team for arranging such a beautiful special birthday dinner by the beach for us.

Nos recibióel director, muy amable,y, tuvimos suerte de recibir un upgrade de la habitación,, las instalaciones son muy bonitas, las vistas a la playa una maravilla. Para el desayuno tienes que cruzar la carretera, no sé si era por ser temporada baja, íbamos a otro hotel de la cadena a desayunar.
Por decir algo, la puerta del baño no se podía mantener abierta y hacía calor dentro.

The property is right on the beach and very beautiful and clean. Also the rooms are clean and beautiful with great sea views.
The staff is very friendly and we were overwhelmed by the hospitality here.
The Hotel Manager Mr Jude is very helpful as well.
We had a great stay here. Definitely one of the best property in Ahangama. Highly Recommended.

Staff are friendly and helpful, sea view room had amazing view onto the waves just outside. Breakfast has a good choice (served across road at south lake)
We chose because of its proximity to the stilt fishermen, but they are just posers for a fee. So didn’t get to see that and otherwise there is little near hotel. Alhagana centre a good 45 mins walk along a busy road without pavement, a restaurant about 10 mins towards kogalle.
