It is very clean and well maintained. It's in a good location for tourists. I was happy the whole time thanks to the kind hosts. You always look out for us to help.

Gusde’s guest house is a small family property located in the city centre, but far from the street noise. It’s a brand new building, with well thought furniture and beautiful design. The bed is super comfortable. I liked to be within a walking distance to the Yoga Barn and the famous Sayuri restaurant. The little garden just in front is cosy and gives an opportunity to enjoy the nature and rest. Special thanks to Jero, Gustut and Gusde for their incredible hospitality, wormth and attention to every detail.

I initially stayed at Taman Cahaya with a friend for six nights. Because I had such a good feeling about, and experience at this special guesthouse I then extended for an additional 11 nights after my friend returned home. I cannot speak more highly of our hosts, Jero and Gustut, and their son Gusde.
The guesthouse is very centrally located - as a walker I walked just about everywhere (rather than "grabbed" or "gojeked"). The accommodation is within the beautiful grounds and garden of their family property. The family are incredibly sensitive to their guests' preferences and requirements and will engage as much or as little, just as guests prefer. Nothing at all is too much trouble. They are the most warm and caring people and will literally treat you as family while so carefully respecting one's privacy. I felt moved by their warmth, care and very good senses of humour! To me the family embody the essence, and live the values of Balinese Hinduism. Jero, the beautiful mother of Gusde, is both a quiet angel and an unassuming powerhouse both in this family business and in their community. She, and son Gusde are also both incredible cooks! :)).
The family are also well connected. Through their son-in-law's company I made two, full day, very wonderful tours. On both occasions the driver/guides were so accommodating, and tailored their tours to my, and our specific requirements of a slower pace, a nature focus and less touristy visits. They were able to provide fantastic suggestions that we otherwise would not have known about and experienced.
Heartfelt thank yous and much aroha Gusde, Gustut and Jero for giving me, and us such a truly beautiful and nourishing experience.
