A magical spot in Portree.

The location of this beautiful home was magical. The host was very communicative, and as a nice touch, we were greeted with wine and local candy. We loved our stay and only wish we had more time to explore the island!

A wonderful, relaxing stay in a beautiful and welcoming home.

We had a wonderful stay at this property! We are a family of five and the house was perfect for us: spacious, cosy, very clean and equipped with everything we needed. Our hosts were incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful. They even left us some wine and a very useful book with recommendations for supermarkets, restaurants and places to visit, as well as suggestions for hikes and excursions around the Isle of Skye. Everything made us feel at home and enjoy a truly relaxing stay.

Perfect stay

Our stay at the Boathouse was one of the highlights of our trip to Scotland. From the moment we booked, Adam and Caitlin were fantastic hosts. Their communication was excellent, with clear instructions that made finding the property effortless and Google Maps also brought us straight to the right location when travelling from Fort Augustus. What really stood out was how much thought they put into making families feel welcome. They provided clean, comfortable travel cots, a high chair, milk in the fridge, and even a few toys for our children. When an accommodation genuinely prioritises your kids, it makes such a difference. We were also welcomed with a bottle of wine and some lovely treats, which was a thoughtful touch. The Boathouse itself isn’t enormous, but it’s perfectly laid out with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, and a comfortable living and dining area with the most incredible view. Everything was spotless and very well maintained. The setting is simply magical. Waking up to sheep grazing outside, watching the mist roll in and out across the landscape, and enjoying the peace and quiet made it a place we’ll never forget. I still find myself thinking about those views. Although it’s just outside Portree rather than in the town itself, we actually preferred that. It was close enough to reach everything easily while offering a much more peaceful and scenic setting. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and couldn’t recommend it more highly.
