The accommodation has the potential to be excellent, if a few minor changes are made.
Very poor signage so couldn't locate the property very easily at all in the dark upon arrival. There was no lighting in car parking area, so it was extremely dark and a little unwelcoming upon first arrival due to this. Our small children were a little scared as a result of this. Strange and unpleasant smell in the entrance foyer, possibly a mixture of gone-off paint and damp. The EV charger didn't work, despite my best efforts. Great thinking to have it there, but even more frustrating that it didn't work. My biggest issue - The curtains - really let a huge amount of light through and the early morning sun lit up the bedrooms, virtually like having no curtains at all. This woke us and our small children and didn't contribute to a restful stay - in fact, our youngest lost sleep and was very difficult towards the end of each day due to lost sleep because of the curtains. I feel that for accommodation that aspires to be luxurious, having blackout curtains that enable restful sleep is a basic requirement. There were constant issues with the shower, it would fluctuate between hot and cold throughout the shower - almost scalding at one point and the water pressure was low. Again, a basic requirement of luxurious accommodation is to provide a working shower. Also, a minor point, for the comfort and peace of mind of guests, I would suggest installing a curtain in the dining/entrance area, as you do feel a little exposed there, as when you look outside, all you see are black (darkness from night) windows from the entrance foyer looking back at you. Our children felt a little afraid of this and we did feel a bit exposed, so just a minor change would help greatly.
