We booked The Ridge Colonial Villa as a base to explore the south of Sri Lanka, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. After busy days visiting beaches and attractions, it was always nice coming back to a comfortable room and a peaceful setting. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful that we felt more like guests in a home than customers in a hotel. A great place to stay, and we'd happily come back!

Die Villa ist architektonisch sehr ansprechend. Die Räumlichkeiten sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet und alles ist herzerfreuend gepflegt. Es gibt eine wunderbare Küchenzeile, einen großen Kühlschrank, AC und einen großen Palmengarten. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Wir hatten uns für srilankanisches Frühstück entschieden, dieses war erstklassig. Das Personal ist äußerst wohlwollend und hilfsbereit.
Eigentlich ist die Entfernung zum Meer kurz, durch den Bahndamm ist der direkte Weg nicht möglich, so dass man am besten mit dem Tuctuc fährt.

This property felt incredibly secure and was beautifully presented throughout. Its charm and uniqueness make it easy to fall in love with—truly a memorable place to stay.
While a swimming pool would have been a nice addition, it wasn’t missed at all—we spent our days enjoying the nearby beach and had plenty of opportunities to swim and soak up the sun

A perfect spot to unwind by the river, with the added bonus of easy access to a stunning sandy beach. The location is peaceful yet close to plenty of local activities, making it ideal for both relaxation and adventure. The staff were incredibly helpful and flexible throughout our stay, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended
It would’ve been great to have on-site bike and surfboard hire, but it wasn’t a problem as there are plenty of rental places nearby
