Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Restaurant staff not so much.

Conveniently close to the airport with pickup service. Good for a late night arrival and one night stay en route.

Restaurant breakfast was way overpriced. 7 euros is a lot for just bread, jam, and instant coffee!

Decent, but they could do better.

I like the pool, proximity to airport and the restaurant.

The front desk manager had a horrible attitude, but there was a young man (with glasses) that stepped in and rectified the situation. He assisted with getting a taxi driver (Omar) to run some errands before my trip. Observation: The level of service given to the white guests is vastly different than what was given to me (black solo female traveler). It shouldn’t matter, but apparently it does. No pillow cases, old blanket, 1 sheet for the bed. The young man at the desk said that there was some confusion with short staffing due to first rain of the season. No worries. I got a clean blanket, pillow cases and a sheet from the Night Front Desk Clerk (female). It was all good. Construction outside window (not pool view) with thin sheer curtains. Noisy until late after noon and music at night until late.

Good value short stay in comfortable, clean hotel handy for airport.

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, comfortable (small) room with aircon. Nice quiet surroundings, good meal (fish & rice). Nice breakfast.

The transfer from the airport was welcome, but needed jump-starting by airport hustlers! But all was well in the end.

A great way to begin your time in The Gambia

Great location for the airport

Not for the first time with The Woodpecker there was no promised transfer taxi at the airport and on arrival the reception desk had no record of my booking and so it took over an hour to check in. At 3am, neither is welcome.

We arrived late evening, so it was great to quickly get to the hotel, have a drink and hit the sack.

No problems. Its not a high quality hotel, but does well for the price.

It was okay. Basic and simple. I got the smallest room (104 ) . thank god airconditioning.

Breakfast was good. Location also good. Friendly people.

That I had to pay on arrival at 3:30 in the night. Only cash was accepted. If you did not pay, they want you to deliver your passport at the reception, an idea which I did not like. use of the creditcard would make things considerably more expensive. (They had already my cardnumber.) The second thing: I had to pay 50 Dalasi extra for a second Nescafe containing 3-5 grams of powder.I like my coffee a bit stronger than normal.

Collected from that airport for free at 01.30! Very friendly staff. Comfortable and very clean room. Great breakfast included in the price. Perfect location for access to the airport.

Not recommended. Very rude staff.

The staff was extremely rude with us. The waitress, specially. Wifi went down on day 1 and never came back. Staff did not manage to book a taxi, could not recommend any place nearby / in all the city. Rooms were quite dirty as well.

Good value for money, staff could be friendlier, Sayoo left me with no ride at 4am.

I asked for Woodpecker's airport transfer several times to confirm. Twice with Sayoo (skinny guy with beard) and then once again with the owner next to him to make sure bc it seemed like Sayoo was very uninterested in his work. When I woke up the next morning at 4am for my flight, there was no one to take me to the airport! No record of it in the computer.
