This was my first time staying at City View Place in Cambridge. I appreciated the location, which is close to the River Cam and at a village (Chesterton) where the river becomes a countryside waterway following its passage through the city's historic centre.
Before my arrival the host sent messages with practical advice for arrival and in a very friendly and welcoming manner. The host readily offered timely information for guests who might experience difficulties accessing the property such as directions towards finding free public parking.
The room I had was simply and tastefully equipped. This arrangement was fine for me, as my purpose for visiting Cambridge this time was not primarily for tourism.
The walk to the city centre along the river is pleasant, morning, afternoon or evening. The walk along the river away from the direction of the city takes us along water meadows offering scenic views. The tow paths on either bank of the river are excellent for walking, jogging and cycling.

The stay was good. All the facilities listed during my booking were provided, and the room and even the common kitchen were very clean. The owner would also respond quickly to any matter when brought to his notice.
The geyser in the bathroom had a small issue. I had to wait too long for the water to heat and then it would become cold again in a matter of seconds. Other than that, everything was fine.
P.S.: If you need to go to any of the colleges, it would easily take a 15-minute walk for you to reach from the stay.

good location, garage next door which is handy. good for taxi pick ups. kitchen good but could do with a toaster. bed comfy, ensuit good and all clean. quiet at night
street parking but hard to find where to park, toilet oppersit room door, someone had used it and it wasnt pleasent.

Check-in was smooth
It was clean. Not in the center of the city but it was close.
I am 188cm. It was difficult to fit in the washroom and shower area. Too small for my liking.
Mattress was way too soft.
No fan provided.
Window could not be opened properly and it was humid. I prefer ventilation at least
