Finding a safe place to stay in an unfamiliar town was my top priority, and The Dragonfly Inn exceeded my expectations. The owners are wonderfully accommodating and live in this beautiful historic house.
My stay felt entirely secure and smooth thanks to clear text instructions, keypad access on the doors, and well-lit private parking right at the entrance. My room was comfortable, with access to a deck and a peaceful guest dining area. The breakfast setup is fantastic—selecting from 4 delicious menu choices delivered each evening made mornings so effortless and satisfying. Overall, a incredibly relaxing vibe, and getting to meet their sweet dog Sunshine was a highlight. I will definitely return!

Breakfast was great and perfectly presented. The room air conditioner was great on a very hot day. Hosts were friendly and always available. Nice to have an outdoor porch right off of the room.
Would have expected a few snacks in the Garden room for the rate, which was higher than most. Hickory itself has very poor navigation and confusing street names that even confused our GPS. Not their fault of course.
