Very quiet location with a magnificent view on the lake. We spotted elephants by the lake from the garden. A lot of birds and small fisher boats resulting in idyllic photos. Friendly owner and staff.

Lovely location, away from the crowds and noise. Peaceful environment. Enjoyed the lake safari, especially the closeness to elephants and the swim in the lake.

great accommodation located on the lake with a beautiful view of the sunrise - hence the name! we saw a lot of bird life, water buffalo and even a mongoose. the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and clean. we loved our stay here and would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at Sunrise Lake Resort. The location beside Parakrama Samudraya is incredibly peaceful, with beautiful views, fresh air, and an amazing sunrise directly over the lake.
The food deserves a special mention. Breakfast and dinner were both freshly prepared, full of authentic Sri Lankan flavours, and served in very generous portions. The prices were extremely reasonable, especially considering the excellent quality and amount of food provided. Dining outdoors with a view of the lake made every meal even more enjoyable.
We also loved the lake safari. We saw many different birds, enjoyed a spectacular sunset, and were fortunate to see wild elephants near the shoreline. It was a unique wildlife experience and one of the highlights of our journey through Sri Lanka.
The room was modern, clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff were warm, helpful, and always made us feel welcome. Sunrise Lake Resort offers wonderful hospitality and excellent value for money.
We highly recommend staying here and would love to return one day!
