Relaxed East Austin stay with great service and a chill atmosphere
I really enjoyed my stay at The East Austin Hotel. The location has a great, laid-back East Austin vibe, and the hotel itself feels relaxed, casual, and unpretentious. It was a nice change from a more traditional hotel experience.
The manager was particularly helpful and accommodating, and I really appreciated the quality of service and willingness to work with me during my stay. That personal touch made a difference. Thank you!
I also didn't mind the shared bathrooms at all. During my stay the hotel was relatively quiet, so they were convenient and clean. I could see this being a different experience during a much busier period, but it wasn't an issue for me.
It was over 100 degrees and the AC worked perfectly plus refrigerator.
The location was near new condos and a lot of great amenities: pilates, yoga, juice bars, Whole Foods, Target and right next to the 4 bus line to downtown a few stops away. This will be my go to in the future for business travel in Austin.
My only minor criticism is that the room had a somewhat musty smell which could be due to the air conditioning, which I think could be improved with some maintenance. Otherwise, I really liked the relaxed atmosphere and character of the property and would consider staying here again.

Very cute hotel in a central location. The separate bathroom was fine, very private. I appreciated the $10 restaurant credit.
It is loud! My first room was second floor facing the street. The music from nearby bars was too loud to sleep. I could also hear people talking on the street. The front desk was very accommodating and moved me to a 3rd floor interior room when I asked. Unfortunately, I could hear everyone who talked in the hallway and the room next door. Must just be thin walls. Bring ear plugs or headphones!
