We had a lovely one-night stay at the pub rooms on our way from London to Cornwall. The village and location were absolutely idyllic, and the whole place had such a lovely charm to it.
We really enjoyed the family room — full of character and charm, while still being comfortable and practical. The shower was great, breakfast was really good, and everything we needed was provided.
The food was a particular highlight — genuinely delicious and a great reason to stop here in itself!
Ben was lovely and welcoming, which made the stay feel warm and relaxed from the moment we arrived. A perfect overnight stop, and somewhere we’d happily return to.

Setting - in picturesque thatch roofed village. The history and stories attached to the inn.
Original features in the Inn, beamed ceilings etc Friendliness of staff. Local wildlife.
En Suite bathroom decor - especially needs new flooring - carpet in bathroom is unhygenic. No non dairy milk or butter available in spite of informing, in advance, that 2 of the 3 guests were vegan. Only provided towels, glasses, cups/biscuit for 2 not 3.
One guest thought we should mention to be mindful of the one track road access.

Basic, but fine for my work arrangements.
My shower was a bit temperamental, especially with the very hot weather I wasn’t able to cool it down
