Super nettes Personal und sehr stilvolle Einrichtung. Das Gesamtkonzept ist sehr stimmig und innovativ. Wir fanden auch das Angebote wie Spa, gym und Pillates sehr gut, auch das vegane Essen war sehr lecker.
Man ist eingebettet in der Natur und ist weit weg vom Trubel in Kuta. Der Blick bis zum Mnadalika Beach ist wirklich toll.
Man muss sich bewusst sein, dass die Villen in einen mit vielen bestehenden Bäumen besetzten Hang gebaut wurden. Wir hatten mehrmals Affen vor unserer Tür, bei denen das Personal dann aber auch schnell zur Hilfe eilt, wenn man das möchte. Auch wird es normal sein mal Insekten auf der Terrasse zu haben oder Tiere wie Geckos um einen herum.
Das ist weniger eine Kritik, aber eben einfach relevant, weil das nicht für jeden etwas ist.
Auch ist die Tür nach draußen mit einem Spalt versehen, so dass man viel von den Umgebungsgeräusche mitbekommt. Kläffende Hunde sowie den Muezin hört man also auch früh morgens und nachts. Allerdings ist das vermutlich überall in Kuta so.

Most amazing and stunning villa and property. We have stayed in many 5* resorts all over the world but this is the most unique one. The handcrafted villa with the pool, outside area and upstairs bedroom and all the details are really amazing. The breakfast was very tasteful and the staff very friendly and kind. Everything was more than perfect and it felt as a bucket list stay. We highly recommend and hope to come back in the future.

Cocoon Reserve is a very pretty hotel, just outside of Kuta Lombok. We stayed there for two nights. The architecture of the buildings and rooms, which are almost entirely made out of bamboo, is gorgeous and they aim for a health and nature focused lifestyle vibe, which fits with the look. With the right development and management, it has a lot of potential as a high-end destination.
However, several significant issues seriously affected our stay, and at their price point, we were quite disappointed. In particular:
We were warned beforehand about the “soft opening” and some construction work (the latter only after booking), but this was not fully accurate. A large part of the hotel is unbuilt or under construction, there is no access road and half the amenities are not yet built. The warnings on the booking platforms and website should be much clearer that this is a hotel still under construction and a project far from finished.
While the architecture is beautiful, there were a few basic errors in our room (the signature leaf villa): lights that did not work, doors that did not close properly, a safe that was not bolted down. Most bafflingly is that basic privacy is lacking: there is a glass door looking into the bedroom without curtains and from the outside walkway, there is a direct view into the bathroom area.
Most disturbingly, for a hotel that is on the very high end of the price range for Lombok, the service level is quite poor. There is a large number of staff simply lounging around, and the staff on duty is not as helpful as expected from a 5-star hotel. The hotel is not within walking distance from the town (which is not clearly advertised) and the hotel is not helpful in arranging transportation. Unless discussed at least a day in advance, the one hotel car is unavailable. And staff is of very limited use when arranging alternative transportation: there are no bikes or scooters available, taxis take ages to arrive and charge ridiculous rates. (With the exception of the night manager who was in fact helpful).
While none of this is necessarily out of the ordinary for a starting hotel, and the intentions definitely do seem the right ones, the execution at this stage is simply not what it should be.
