About this house rental

A private long-stay sanctuary in Mount Washington, where sustainable architecture, artisan design, and hillside calm create the conditions for a different kind of life in Los Angeles. Built into the slope beneath a 100-year-old oak, solar-powered and fully sustainable, designed for one or two guests who want to live in the city slowly not just pass through it. 30-day minimum.

You`ll feel it before you can name it. You walk in, the city opens up through the windows, and the noise of everything else falls away. The air is clean. The light is soft and steady. The house is cool without trying built straight into the hillside rock, so it holds its own temperature through passive design alone.

This is a home for people who love good architecture and design but let`s be clear about what `luxury` means here. It isn`t a brand, a trend, or a look. It`s the materials themselves: natural plaster walls and VOC-free finishes you can actually breathe, Paperstone countertops, locally made tile, custom pieces from salvaged wood. Nothing off-gasses. Nothing is here to impress you. It`s simply the best, healthiest version of every surface chosen so your body can rest and your mind can ease without you having to think about it. You don`t manage wellness here. You just live in it.

The home suits a certain kind of stay. If you`re relocating to LA, it`s a soft landing already calm, already lived-in, a place to exhale from day one. If you work remotely, the environment isn`t extra; it`s a creative advantage. And if you`re a long-stay traveler who prefers neighborhoods to itineraries, Northeast LA has a creative, low-key energy you settle into rather than tour.

Your mornings start on the terrace, coffee in hand, citrus trees below, and the city in front of you. The citrus and herbs around the home are yours pick what you like, whenever you like, for as long as you`re here. Your evenings end watching LA light up, the heritage oak overhead.

Minutes from Highland Park cafés, Eagle Rock restaurants, and Silver Lake, with Downtown a short drive away. Close to all of it but up here, somewhere else entirely.

The home has its own private entry from a quiet road, fully separate from the main residence below, which sits on a different street and is occupied by a long-term tenant. A private gate and the natural distance between the two give you a genuinely private, standalone experience.

Designed and built by Home Front Build, with interiors and wellness elements by CarbonShack. Approximately 21.5 miles from LAX and 15 miles from SoFi Stadium.
