Refuge with a view

What a find! I almost want to give all “1” and “2” just to keep it a secret for us! Seriously one of the best small hotels I have ever stayed in, and my job since more than three decades has me in hotels all around Europe 250-280 nights per year, many of them boutique and quite a few 4 and 5-star. There is such a spirit and calmness here, it’s the perfect place to just “be in the moment” and chill by the gorgeous pool, which is every bit as large as in the pics. (That’s not always the case) Wonderful staff, fabulous dinners, really good wine selection and a full cocktail bar. The poolside “shack” provides delicious meals as well. We stayed an entire afternoon poolside and it was so perfect. We took part in the wine pairing with dinner and learned a lot. I can only say “go, and plan to stay a while.” You will come away with new friends and a renewed spirit. We can’t wait to go back and are already planning for a longer stay in 2025.

The monster hill to and from downtown! Nothing can be done about this, it is, after all, primarily responsible for the panoramic view. We scaled it once. Such a wise decision to have all three of our dinners at Elounda Heights.

stunning location high above Elounda. Great food and friendly staff

Rooms are quite close to each other. Ours was in the middle so felt we were overlooked. possibly the rooms at the top or at edges would be more private.

Quiet stay in eastern Crete near town of Elounda

Stunning views from high on the hill Very friendly staff, always available. Adult guests , mostly in couples and all well behaved. Walkable to town centre, so no need to take the car. Excellent Pool area with bar. Elounda has a lot of quality restaurants and facilities to offer

The drive up to the property from Elounda is tight and steep. Although can be walked or driven.

Relaxing well maintained place with very personal service.

Very personal and pro active service. We got help for things I would not have asked for. Excelent view and well maintained property. Options for dinner in charming surroundings. Good food.

A fairly rough drive to the property, either a very steep and narrow road from the village, or a rural entry that seemed to be wrong :) But we managed!

The people (owners and staff) are out of this world, the breakfast is a dream (food and views), wonderful pool with breathtaking views, inhouse Restaurant amazing....etc etc...

Exceptional

The Hotel is a boutique resort, lovely place, magnificent service of Ritza that took care of us even after she was at home on her free time (sent as a lot of suggestions of places to visit). The owner, Kostas was also so kind and served us the tasty breakfast that Natalia, his wife, prepared for us. We would like to come back. (The driving uphill isn't for the faint of heart, because there is a sharp turn while driving the steep hill ).

peaceful and relaxing gem of a hotel in Elounda

Fantastic location, attentive staff, great pool area for relaxing in and around. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts, they allowed us a late checkout which was really helpful and appreciated. Elounda is a lovely resort with the obligatory trip to Spinnalonga and Plaka nearby.

Would recommend especially if you like family run and friendly.

Lovely place to stay, great breakfast, friendly staff, friendly and personal service. Close to local restaurants, bars, marina, bus stops (walk down a fairly steep road and back again), but also good food available on site for lunch/dinner. Parking available if you do have a hire car. No struggle for sunbeds either.

Beautiful hotel, clean and spacious rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. We had a wonderful stay at Elounda Heights and particularly enjoyed the views, the lovely gardens, pool and comfortable sun loungers, the delicious breakfasts and the calm and relaxed atmosphere. We only had one dinner here, but the food was delicious all freshly prepared and probably the best we had on our whole trip! We look forward to a return visit!

It’s a pretty steep walk up the road to Elounda Heights, but the views are worth it!

Very enjoyable trip to Elounda Heights

Staff very helpful and wanted to make your visit an enjoyable experience. The views of Mirabello Bay were outstanding. The breakfast served daily was delicious and lunch and dinner was available and of a very good quality. We would love to visit again!

Amazing experience. Mr. Vaggelis, his family and the rest of the team offered us the most relaxing holidays we could imagine. It was like we were gustes in a friend's house. The location of the hotel is fantastic, the view unbelievable, all people very polite and ready to help us in all of our requirements and the food excellent since many of the offered dishes were homemade. The room very clean and confortable.

The variety in the breakfast could be a bit bigger but the fact that most of them were homemade absolutely satisfied us.

Perfect getaway in Crete

it’s a great and peaceful location (up a hill) yet very close to restaurants, bars etc. at Elounda. Amazing views from the pool area. Everything is modern, comfortable and well-functioning. The staff is absolutely amazing and dedicated to making everyone feel at home.

There isnt really anything in particular. It’s perfect!

We loved the room we were allocated. Private and with a fabuloous view. The pool was wonderful with a pool bar right there. The views from the pool were also great.

Nothing about the hotel, other than the steep drive up to it.

Two weeks of bliss with excellent food, drinks , location , resort and people.

Breakfast was lovely , everyday a special cake and local delicacies and homemade jams and marmalades. Really nice coffee. The welcome by everyone who worked there , all so friendly and helpful you feel like you’ve known them always but without them being intrusive. The music round the pool was fab. The selection of cocktails at night was fantastic.

Nothing , it was exactly as sold to us … a nice quiet location with stunning views and the personal touch

The view was breathtaking staff were amazing and room was very clean and comfortable. The bed in our apartment was wonderful and we had a wonderful sleep every night. Also must mention breakfast. It was delicious with plenty of choice and fresh produce on offer. Thank you Natalia, Kostas and Team for a wonderful stay. Shed a few tears leaving the place.

Bit of a hill leading down to Elounda village but that should be fairly obvious given the name of the hotel. We walked down and used taxi up on very hot days 😂 it was only €5 so well worth it.

the property contained everything you will need plus the gardens were exceptional and added such a natural beauty by the pool. We enjoyed the special dinners with wine pairings and the excellent breakfasts

It’s the little things that make it stand out!

Beautiful gardens, ideal location, stunning views. Amazing staff. An attention to detail, in that the smaller things that are sometimes forgotten by some hotels, haven’t been, for example a decent hairdryer in the rooms and nothing is ever too much trouble.

The hill up to the property, however, without it you wouldn’t have the amazing aspect/views and tranquility

Wonderful views and staff, great location on steep hill

Wonderful and welcoming staff, beautiful views from our large bi-level terrace (Pan, top floor studio) as well as from the pool and restaurant, nice gardens, great breakfasts and dinner (with excellent wine selection as well). Good location to walk into town or to Spinalomga Peninsula/ Kolokitha Beach, which we did each morning.

Tricky to find, especially in the dark, even with their directions/ link (both google and Apple GPS we’d not accurate). Long driveway is very steep and requires excellent driving skills to navigate, as well as some fitness to walk up and down. But of course it’s the hill that provides the wonderful views over Mirabello Bay.

Simply perfect!

The view from our room was exceptional. The balcony was private and not overlooked and you could see elounda and spinalonga. The pool was lovely with a bar that snacks and breakfast. Really friendly and helpful staff. We could not have asked for more and in fact we stayed an extra night
