An exceptional building with a truly authentic atmosphere, set in a fantastic location right on the lake. The service was friendly and helpful, and having a convenient parking space was a great bonus.
Although I completely understand that installing air conditioning in a historic building may not be possible, I would still suggest finding a way to improve the room temperature during the summer. The thick walls absorb heat throughout the day and release it at night, which can make the rooms quite warm and uncomfortable.
Opening the windows is unfortunately not an ideal solution due to the property’s lakeside location and the mosquitoes. I appreciated that a fan was provided in the room, which helped somewhat. I would also suggest installing mosquito screens on the windows so guests could comfortably keep them open at night. This seems like a relatively simple and affordable solution that could make a significant difference during the warmer months.

The location is great and the spacious rooms.
Because the property is old it doesn’t have air conditioning and would not be in keeping with property but because you are close to the lake you are advised not to open windows due to the mosquitos. It was 34c when we stayed and only had 2 small fans. I also queried that was expecting sparkling wine as per booking description but was informed would have to pay for it. I must have misunderstood.

Wonderful location on a little peninsula right on the edge of Lake Constance.
Beautiful terrace restaurant with magnificent views over the lake making each breakfast and dinner a special experience.
The rooms on the third floor were extremely hot and the fans provided did little to alleviate the problem.
There were no electric kettles in the rooms for making tea.
The selection of fresh fruit at breakfast time was very poor.
