The location was ideal not far from the town and plenty of cafes/restaurants. The room certainly had a view of the harbour. Every morning sat looking across to the harbour. The welcome pack gave us lots of info on things to do very helpfull as our first visit to the IOW.
Desiree and Chris great hosts an were about if we needed anthing. They recommend places worth a visit and local restaurants.

Great location, just a short stroll from the town, seafront and pier. The room was beautiful and very clean. Loved it. And our hosts, Chris and Desre, were very friendly but not overbearing. We felt very comfortable there with them. Not a B&B but they had a little fridge with orange juice, milk, jam and some bread so we could make toast in the toaster or tea/coffee. And two little chocolates and biscuits. Plus a hairdryer still in its box. They’d thought of everything.
Honestly can’t think of anything.

Wij hebben genoten van de prettige kamer, het mooie uitzicht en de goede locatie. Chris en Desiree, de eigenaren, zijn enorm vriendelijk en gastvrij. Er stond wat lekkers klaar op de kamer, heel leuk!

Chris and Desi were very welcoming and great hosts. Anchor Down Cottage is so well located for local hovercraft, catamaran, bus and train travel and also for shops, restaurants and town esplanade. The guest room within the house is spacious and comfortable and is located on the first floor with a great view of Ryde Pier and the Solent, from the comfort of a relaxing chair placed in the bay window. Desi has thought of everything to make the stay memorable including a well stocked fridge, handy room-based breakfast and tea / coffee facilities plus a nice little touch in the form of a welcome pack. The hosts' knowledge of the Isle of Wight is priceless and their personal travel experiences are well worth a listen.
