The pool is amazing. I was there almost every day. Breakfast was also pretty good.
Very old property and it has a lot of little quirks. You will need to embrace the go-with-the-flow attitude of the carribean.

I loved the big spacious rooms, the view and the abundance of fruit growing on the resort. It was beyond beautiful, breathtaking in fact and makes the resort. The cleaning staff and reception were very warm and sweet, helping us in their own way when we asked for something. It's a relaxed resort and things seem to move at a slower pace.
The view of the pitons were mind-blowing, we don't get to see such natural beauty every day living in the UK. It's certainly not something I would take for granted and we enjoyed the free room upgrade: sitting on the balcony, watching the view and feeling free, in paradise.
Infinity pool is hidden away but absolutely awesome, don't miss it during your stay!
The complimentary fruits was a nice touch and we enjoyed the wax apples and juicy mangoes.
The receptionist / security team were warm and helpful, up for a conversation and knowledgable about the island.
Problem with mosquitoes in our room - cleaning staff sprayed the room for us which helped, as I was being eaten alive!
I really, really, really disliked our toilet. The seat itself was made of some kind of sponge, it had stains on it and a "crack" in the middle-half of it, filled with a line of...dried brown substance. The toilets in the airport were cleaner and for someone with OCD, I had to shower every time I used it. Please, change the toilet seat in room 3, it's not sanitary (or comfortable) whatsoever and the first thing my partner and I said on our return was how much we'd missed our toilet. In hindsight, we should have said something but we didn't think they would be able to change the whole seat during our 7 day stay. Instead, we made the best of situation by showering and enjoying the spacious room and view.
I also noticed that even with room service, sometimes the floors & sink hadn't been wiped down properly. We killed a cockroach on one night and I was too scared to move it: the cleaner did but left the cockroach blood all over the floor for our remaining stay which shocked me. In terms of cleanliness, it could have been better and wasn't to the best standard.
Lastly, and this is sad to say because I had a soft spot for him - the chef on site, Shane, didn't always make service times comfortable. On the one hand, he had his own charm and cut up the fruits / displayed items beautifully. At other times, we felt we were inconveniencing him. Our friend with kids was staying a few doors down and waited nearly every day for him to arrive (we were told breakfast starts at 7.30am and later told it was 8am). On one day we wanted chips at 7.10pm and he'd gone home already. 8am - 7pm is a long day but surely you can get someone for the morning and afternoon shifts?
We were told the breakfast is continental & whilst the fruits were always cut up beautifully, the toast was sometimes luke-warm bordering on cold, and needed more time in the toaster. We were never asked how we'd like our eggs and always served in the same way as the day before, we learned to ask before preparation "please can we have our eggs fried today", but it always felt like we were asking too much. We asked for pancakes one day (which were awesome btw) and were told "no because I'd have to make them from scratch". This was so confusing given there were only 2 of us at service and it's not hard to mix eggs milk and flour. I was also served gone off milk on one of the days, Shane was apologetic of course but it put me off my breakfast. He could have done more to be welcoming & accommodating, but even with the limitations of service we still liked him and mostly enjoyed what we were given.
