I don't normally or lightly give out full 10s, but they are fully warranted here. Where to even begin. Firstly, when you come here you are welcomed into a beautifully well appointed room in a lovely comfortable home, in a leafy pleasant London neighborhood that makes you feel you're in a village. A beautiful garden to take a peaceful moment in or for kids to let off a little steam. Yet a pleasant 10 minute walk down tree-lined streets takes you to the vibrant and buzzing Finchley Central main street. Spilling over with eateries, ethnic food of every kind, pubs, bars and convenient supermarkets including a huge TESCO. I was able to get basics for day to day, enabling us to splash out on other things. Nearby Finchley Central tube offers rapid transit to Central London Attractions
I slept so well on such a comfy plush bed and was floating on a cloud every night. Whilst my room wasn't en-suite, a fabulous hot power-shower was just across the carpeted corridor with a useful 'engaged/vacant sign'. An excellent modern kitchen enabled me to cook and prepare food for whenever we weren't eating out. Both my family and I thoroughly loved every moment here.
Ndidi truly is a wonderfully warm, thoughtful, intelligent and gracious host who went well out of her way to ensure I and other guests were fully at ease. In fact I turned up ragged, tired, soaked and generally half-dead and within days was rested, pink healthy & recovered to enjoy family time. Males normally are welcome here as part of a couple or visiting families only. With my family delayed two of six nights by a family emergency, Ndidi with much grace & goodwill permitted me by exception to stay till they arrived, encouraging me to rest and enjoy the garden. Other guests were such charming good company. It sounds an exaggeration but it's not; my week here was almost like a 10-day sunshine holiday.
These are not negatives because there are frankly none to mention - just logging some points separately for awareness
- Communicate with the excellent host here and let Ndidi know if your ETA will change or if you're delayed etc. This is always welcomed. I admit I overlooked that getting a little overwhelmed with foul weather and train delays on my way in
- If you get a private number calling, it may well be the host reaching out to you or advising that she has a commitment to attend to (to factor into your timing for arrival -she likes to welcome her guests in person) so Overcome your natural reticence to private numbers etc, and answer it.
- Again, this is one of the loveliest and most well-appointed homes I've enjoyed staying in. One of the best things is how welcome and comfortable I felt, never had that sense of 'tip toeing on eggshells' etc I have gotten elsewhere in places with a 'males as part of couples/families rule' - certainly not here. However everyone so hugely appreciates it as a guy, if you take a little care and a moment, not to do the thoughtless things males can sometimes do when using the bathroom in a hurry and half their mind is elsewhere!! :) :)
- Come on over, you are totally going to love it (just don't come too much so she is booked out when my family next wants to come!! :) )

Ndidi’s warm welcome and the beautiful, comfortable home made me feel right at home. Ndidi was a wonderful host, and the local tips made settling in so easy.

I felt at home with Ndidi. She was really accommodating and sweet and offered so many facilities. Even talking to her was fun and she didn’t feel like a stranger haha. The room is spacious with a gorgeous garden view and comfy bed! Bathroom and kitchen was clean and maintained well❤️

Dee Dee is an excellent host, real pleasure to meet her and stay at her place. Room was lovely and large with a comfy bed. Shower was great, kitchen was clean, and we were able to make our breakfast and packed lunches. Location was great for us as just a short drive from the M1. No restrictions on parking in the immediate area ( one of the few roads that isn't controlled), but it is in the ULEZ zone. The area is nice and quiet and only 10 minutes stroll from Finchley central, where there are busses and trains directly into town, and some great restaurants.
All in all a cracking stay. Thanks Dee Dee, and will definately be back.
