Discover your perfect lakeside escape at The Tater Tot Cottage on Potato Lake in Chetek, WI. Nestled at the end of a private road and surrounded by nature, this charming retreat offers the ideal balance of comfort, adventure, and serenity.

The home features 3 cozy bedrooms which are all located downstairs including two bunk rooms (each with twin-over-double beds) and a spacious king master. Please note: top bunks require climbing access.

Inside, enjoy thoughtful upgrades like new appliances, a Ninja air fryer, a water filtration system, and fiber internet with a backyard range extender. Set the mood with our new speaker system and subwoofer. You can connect via Bluetooth or spin your favorite vinyl on the record player while you cook, play cards, or relax on the couch.

Step outside to a 350 sq ft deck with a large dining table, gas fire pit, and ample seating, or gather around the wood-burning Solo Stove in the yard. A private dock makes boating easy, and two Perception kayaks are available for your use. Cruise the lake to visit four waterfront bars and restaurants which are all accessible by boat.

Outdoor lovers? Enjoy direct access to year-round adventure. In warmer months, explore scenic nearby ATV and side-by-side trails. Come winter, hit the local snowmobile routes that connect right from the area. You can access ATV trails from the property without the need for trailering. We also have enough space in the driveway for a trailer or two and a few cars. The Ice Age Trail is also close by for hiking, snowshoeing, and taking in Wisconsin’s natural beauty.

Love to fish? Potato Lake is a stand-alone gem known for exceptional fishing and ice fishing. With species like bluegill, crappie, perch, bass, northern pike, and even muskie, it’s a quiet angler’s paradise far removed from the busier Chain of Lakes.

Hunters welcome! Our cabin is just minutes from great public lands. Guests can head out for deer, bear, turkey, waterfowl, grouse, pheasants, and small game all season long!

Need a boat? Pontoon rentals are available right on the lake at TJ’s Timberline Resort or nearby at Lake Country Marina. One side of our dock is available for guest use May-Oct (weather depending).

Only 17 minutes from Chetek’s shops and dining, yet tucked away in tranquil surroundings, this is the kind of place you’ll never want to leave.

DOG RULES
We're thrilled to welcome your furry family members! To keep our cabin comfortable for all guests, please follow these pet rules:

1. Limit - Up to 2 house trained dogs allowed. Please share their breed/size when booking.

2. Supervision - Dogs may not be left unattended in the cabin unless crated. Dogs must be leashed AT ALL TIMES when outside due to neighbors having animals.

3. Furniture - Dogs are not allowed on beds. Please bring their dog beds. Please do not allow them on our comforters, pillows, or throw blankets.

4. Clean Up - Guests must clean up all pet waste from the yard and property. Waste bags are provided and a shovel is left on the property to scoop and place pet waste deep in the woods if not bagged. We also provide a paw washer and paw wipes to help keep the cabin clean.

5. Noise - Please help us maintain the peaceful setting by minimizing barking, especially outdoors.

6. Damage Fee - In addition to the non refundable pet fee charged upon booking, a damage fee will be charged if excessive cleaning or repairs are required due to pets.
