I booked this on a whim despite it at the time having no reviews. I am so glad I did. My two night stay at this off grid canal boat was the slow down I needed to end a hectic just over two week stay in London. I spent two evenings sitting on the stern of the boat, eating food from a local specialty grocery store, and sipping a drink while people watching both the people on boats on the canal as well as people walking along the tow path. As an added bonus a gondola was plying up and down the canal with a guitar singer to add a further dose of ambience. As darkness fell I headed inside to the cosy interior to plan my next day. I woke early both mornings, threw open the door to the bow and then cuddled in the bed watching the canal slowly come to life with joggers, bikers, commuters, and birds. Really enjoyed the wildlife - sitting on the boat my neighbors included a family of Eurasian Coots in the water and Eurasian Magpies in the magnificent weeping willow on the opposite bank. Fiona was a wonderful host. She was incredibly communicative before I even arrived, provided excellent photos and video as an introduction to the boat, provided fantastic recommendations to local stores and eateries, and quickly answered my questions during my stay. Both check in and check out were a breeze.
My only complaint is that the boat was so nice and felt so special I really had to force myself to actually leave it to spend my last full day exploring London. It was so tempting to get out a book and spend the entire day just enjoying the canal. In fact for a future visit (should I be luck enough to stay again as I imagine this gem will be fully booked far into the future) - I may plan a day to just stay all day on the boat. I am someone who camps extensively so the off grid'ness of this unique canal boat stay was a feature I enjoyed down to the thetford cassette toilet, being mindful of water usage, electricity from solar panels, and solar lights, but can understand that others who are not used to being off grid may be less enchanted.

We wanted to be ‘off grid’ and this was such a fantastic way to do just that! The boat itself was so comfortable, quirky and in a fantastic location! Clean and comfortable and no WiFi, no electricity sockets and awful signal we just got on with enjoying our days! We would totally, 100% recommend you don’t stay here if you need your phone, hairdryer, TV or communication with the outside world. However we do recommend this wonderful place if you want a peaceful, restful and relaxing time - with great walks to Regents Park, London Zoo and the tube station. it’s fabulous!
