The Space:
Make this Dennis vacation rental your yearly retreat on Cape Cod. At Retro Beach Escape, you'll enjoy must-have amenities such as an outdoor shower along with fabulous decor that just may inspire you. Situated only 400 yards from quaint Bayview Beach, this home is near the village of Dennis proper as well. Tour antique shops for unique souvenirs, yummy eateries, and cultural attractions such as the Cape Cod Museum of Art and the Cape Playhouse and Cinema. From the weathered, yet well-maintained cedar shingle exterior to the interior collection of 1960s colonial-style furnishings, vintage braided rugs, and knotty pine cabinetry to the vinyl flooring and nautical quirks, this home has quintessential New England written all over it. Dine al fresco on the private porch, grilling under the sun and stargazing after dusk. The outdoor shower will make it easy to rinse off aprés beach. Head inside the sliding glass doors and you'll find 1,100 square feet of space, from the living room to the bedrooms. Flick on the cable-equipped TV (upgrade to come) or use the WiFi to watch your favorite shows While the kitchen exudes a classic charm, it's still equipped with modern must-haves such as a dishwasher for easy cleanup. Spotless! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Shower/tubs need handrails for us older folks to stay safe. Same thing for entryway; the distance between steps was really high.

This location left little to be desired - quiet, clean, private, plenty of room, and a stone’s throw from the beach. Had a problem with one of the toilets, plumber out that afternoon, plenty of extra blankets and towels, plenty of parking, and plenty of fans throughout the house. The deck and grill were nice features. The windows appear to all be new and are easy to open. The management was very prompt and responsive. On the minus side - the outside signage is poor and the house is difficult to locate. The lockbox is tricky. The TV was tiny (maybe 35”) with outdated tech, WiFi was problematic, not enough seating in the living room, queen mattress super uncomfortable with an unsecured headboard that hit into the wall every time you moved, fridge ran almost non-stop, not enough serving bowls and no sharp knives (sharpener worthless) in the kitchen. The furnishings are in sore need of updating and the window shades need replacing. There are no exhaust fans in the bathrooms. The pros outweigh the cons and we would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful beach, short walk to beach could use an information book of the area. out side needs some TLC. Very clean house pans old and all needed to be clean before use. Area is very beautiful ..

Rustic cottage that was clean, terrifically located and walking distance of a beautiful beach on the Bay Side. It was not air conditioned but fans in every room worked fine even on a very hot weekend.
