The Historic Knox Hotel was really lovely. Our room was so nice and the bed comfortable. One could hear a bit of street noise and the occasional train but certainly not enough to bother us. There were ear plugs available if you are a light sleeper. The paint colors and furniture were really nice and the bathroom modem. We ate right across the street at Cafe Grace, a nice restaurant with lovely staff, and parked for free right next to the hotel. We walked over to the train station and drove around to see some of the towns historic buildings and homes. Overall it was a very nice stay.
It is important to know that one must walk up the stairs to the rooms. That was fine for us but worth noting. The hotel is authentic!

The place is charming, with high quality furnishings, and nicely decorated with appropriate period pieces. It smells good, too. The bed was very comfortable and the water pressure was decent but not wasteful.
In their communications they comment on the amount of light that comes into the room through the transom window, and while it does, it wasn't too much for my taste. They do have a curtain over that window, but it does not block all the light.
They also comment on Street noise, which at night there really wasn't much, other than the nearby train track in the train going through. If you're used to trains it won't bother you. Personally, I always sleep with earplugs at hotels anyway because then they all sound the same, haha.
Maybe I missed it, but the email about amenities did not mention coffee. I don't believe there's any coffee service. I got up at 5:00 a.m., which would mean that I would have to go get gas station coffee if I was going to have any before leaving town. It's a minor detail, but a coffee station in the lobby would have been great. And, if I just missed it, my apologies to the hotel!

Clean, historic hotel on north end of town. Easy access to building and room. Close to restaurants and coffee. Convenient to see friends in town. Beautiful renovation!

Charming and elegant building that was updated tastefully to enhance history of site.
Room wasn't ready but staff responded right away and took care of it.
