Experience downtown Durango from this beautifully remodeled, two-level condo in the historic Jarvis Building, located in the heart of Old Town and surrounded by the restaurants, galleries, shops, trails, and local attractions that make Durango so special. With lovely views of the surrounding mountains and historic streets, a communal patio and grill, and a walkable location, this condo puts downtown right outside your door.
Set on the top floor of the Jarvis Building, the condo offers an open-concept layout with a comfortable blend of modern finishes and historic character. One of the area's most iconic sights, the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, passes by each morning, creating a memorable backdrop to your stay. Step out onto the communal patio, and you may even have the opportunity to wave as the train makes its way through town.
The Animas River Trail is just two blocks west of the building, offering a scenic route for walking and biking along the river. You'll also be within an easy stroll of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad station, the farmers market, grocery and liquor stores, and a wide selection of downtown restaurants and nightlife. Bike rentals are just a few minutes from the front door, making it easy to explore Durango without getting in the car.
Inside, the condo has been recently renovated with upscale furnishings and a fresh, comfortable design. The place was great! My only issue was the towels. They smelled like they were left in the washing machine for 5-6 days. They smelled quite musty. Other than that, everything was great!

Just a few items, miscommunication about the lock box. The 4 digit code was never given in the check in instructions. Since the property required a FOB access before you can gain entry and use the SMART lock for entry to the rental, our check-in was delayed until we contacted the manager several times to retrieve the code. We had a problem with the SMART lock. I believe the battery on the unit died or the unit malfunctioned. This prevented us from locking the rental anytime when we departed. The SMART LOCK ALSO would not lock using a key. We left the property several times without locking the unit, leaving our personal property and the unit property at risk. VACASA said the door lock was fixed, but on departure the lock was still not functioning. Lastly, I believe the coffee maker plastic insert to hold the filter is from a different maker. It does not properly fit the coffee maker. This prevented the use of the coffee maker. I would look at this to make sure the next rental does not make a mess. Property otherwise was clean and as expected.
