Wonderful little guesthouse in the heart of Stöðvarfjörður. I stayed here before when it was run by another owner, but this time was much better and the rooms got some improvement. It just newly opened it's doors again which is why I give a detailed review.
It's very good value for the price and a really friendly and helpful new owner.
Bed is comfortable and the blackout curtains are perfectly placed to make the room dark enough (so many hotels fail to install proper curtains). This is a big plus. The room was perfectly clean and very spacious.
There's a small communal area with sofas and a tv and a microwave :). The mountain views are wonderful and it's a quiet area. Tip: You can hike up the mountain behind Stöðvarfjörður (50min one way) for amazing views and to see the town from above.
No disturbance during the night or noise from the street. Parking directly in front of the guesthouse.
My room didn't have a desk to work but others may have one. Was not an issue, I just used the nightstand table instead.
There's a possibility for breakfast which I didn't try but it's a great option.
Will definitely stay here again next time!
Don't hesitate to book this lovely guesthouse, this town is worth a longer stop.
