A crowded Cabin is better than an empty Castle! It's a great spot to step away from work or the distractions of your fast-paced every day and unwind. On a clear sky night you can view millions of stars, satellites, and the milky way right outside the cabin.
For those with Off-Road Vehicles: the Little Manistee Trailhead is 0.7 miles away, Tin Cup Spring Trailhead is 5 miles away, and Little "O" Trailhead 7 miles away. 100's of miles to enjoy! Horseshoe shaped driveway makes it easy for those hauling in on trailers. No worries about backing-in or out.
Come enjoy this cabin at all four seasons! This hidden gem in Northwest Michigan provides endless opportunity for the recreational enthusiasts of the great outdoors YEAR ROUND with hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing/snowboarding, snowmobiling, and more all within 30 miles. It's private and peaceful location also makes for a nice romantic escape for couples.
NO WIFI however cell service is ample so you can use your own hotspot and own streaming accounts to watch on the smart TV.
FISHERMEN: Lake County features over 150 lakes and 46 designated trout streams & rivers within the borders of Lake County. Big Star Lake and Wolf Lake are the largest, and they both offer fishing for pike, bass, and panfish. The Pere Marquette draws fishermen from all over the world because of its reputation as one of the finest trout in the Midwest. These rivers also provide wonderful scenic canoeing and kayaking.
The Little Manistee River has a reputation for excellent trout and steelhead fishing. Starting from the springs in Luther, this trout-filled stream offers about 65 miles of excellent fishing opportunities as it flows into Lake Michigan.
REMINDER, as it is a wooded setting...spiders, ants, ticks, mosquitos, and other insects and un-wanted critters can be prevalent. The cabins (interior/ exterior) and the yard is treated regularly by a professional pest control company. Therefore, should be manageable but insect repellent is encouraged as well as keeping the exterior screens and doors closed as much as possible. There is no refund for insects and pesky critters sightings. The cabin is located in their natural habitat.
Guests MUST BE fire-conscious and safe.
Fires may not be large or out of control and they must be extinguished COMPLETELY before going to bed or leaving the property. There is a water spigot outside of the kitchen on the side of the cabin.
***Reminder the outdoor wooden chairs, stools, and bed swing are taken down and stored during the snowy season typically (Thanksgiving to Easter). *** Firepit and plastic chairs remain to enjoy a winter bonfire!
