About this house rental
The space
Skyfire Ranch is tucked away on five peaceful acres in one of the quietest corners of Wonder Valley, about 10 minutes east of the last stoplight on Highway 62. As you head toward the property, you’ll pass the famous “No Services for 100 Miles” sign—a reminder that you’re leaving the city behind and entering the wide-open Mojave Desert.
The ranch is a true desert oasis, with 38 palm trees, mature shade trees, and thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces that create a peaceful retreat unlike anywhere else nearby.
The home began as a small 1957 cabin. After purchasing it in 2020 while I was still serving in the Marine Corps, I stripped it down to the studs and spent the next six years rebuilding it by hand. Nearly every part of the home has been carefully restored or reimagined while preserving the character and charm that made me fall in love with it in the first place.
More than just a place to stay, Skyfire Ranch has been my home, art studio, and passion project. Every corner reflects years of hard work, creativity, and attention to detail, and I’m excited to finally share it with guests looking for a unique and memorable desert escape.
Guest access
Guests have access to all interior areas of the home except the laundry room, which is located behind the guest bedroom and is reserved for host use.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the entire five-acre property at their own risk. Please remain within the property boundaries, follow all posted signs, and respect any restricted areas. The maintenance area on the south side of the property is not accessible to guests.
For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, please obey all signage and treat the property with care at all times.
Other things to note
Please stay at least 50 meters (165 feet) away from the old blue boat located on the property. It is clearly marked with rope and warning signs, so you’ll know exactly which one it is.
The boat was once home to a large bee colony. While the hive no longer appears to be active, bees may still be present depending on the season. For your safety, please do not enter the roped-off area or touch the boat under any circumstances. If you’re close enough to touch it, you’re much too close.
Thank you for respecting the posted signs and helping keep everyone safe.
